The Covid-19 pandemic has affected us all in numerous ways. One important result is that most courts are allowing many (but not all) cases to proceed with virtual appearances by telephone or video or even through plea-by-mail paperwork, rather than risking the spread of the disease and endangering lives with in-person appearances. Procedures vary court-by-court and case-by-case.
